Pregnancy Massage
During pregnancy your body
goes through major changes such as structural, physiological,
psychological, spiritual and social change.
Some of these
changes may produce discomforts and emotional problems.
Massage can ease these discomforts and help provide a feeling of
relaxation and wellbeing.
It also can help an expectant mother
prepare physically and emotionally for the changes that will occur
during the time of pregnancy.
Post partum massage can be
beneficial in relieving the everyday aches and strains of managing your
new baby and as a source of relaxation.
How does it
work?
Pregnancy Massage differs from other massage therapies in that no
abdominal, lower back or foot massage is applied during the first
trimester.
No essential oils are used in the 1st trimester.
The
level of clothing you wear during your massage is between you and
your therapist. Some clients choose to remove all of their clothing
(you will be covered by towels) and some choose to remain in
their underwear. Whatever you choose to wear or remove is completely up
to you and your comfort level.
There
are some contraindicated conditions during pregnancy, so we
suggest you obtain a referral or advice from your GP or
midwife before your 1st appointment.
