Cally is now 9 months old (we can’t believe how quickly time has passed) and apparently she has come a long way in a short space of time.
Her puppy walkers have taken her to Barnes, the Olympic Village and the Bank of England fun day both in London. She has also been to Hever Castle where there were lots of swans and cygnets, “Cally wasn’t interested in them, she was as good as gold.” says her puppy walker Lorna.
Cally has been out and about on buses, trains and many car journeys. Lorna explained “On a recent train journey, there was a wide gap at one of the station platforms and I thought Cally might have a problem but she just jumped onto the train with no hesitation.”
Well done Cally, one day, Cally’s future owner may use a variety of different forms of transport so it is important that she is trained on them all.
Lorna described Cally as “A delightful companion, she’s a pleasure to have in the house, loves her walks into town and seems to really enjoy shopping at the supermarket." Lorna went on to say “Cally loves people, especially children! She is very gentle with them, she even seems to know when a child is worried by dogs and sits very still.”
Cally is doing very well in her training and her obedience is good. It won’t be long now until Cally goes off to Guide Dog Training School, and all the training that Lorna has given her can be built upon so that one day Cally will be partnered with a person who is blind or partially sighted.
The photograph shows her with her puppy walker Lorna.
